As an engineer, I worked on the analysis and structural design for the subsurface works for the Eastern section of the project between Stepney Green and Abbey Wood. This included the Eastern section of the central running tunnels with associated shafts incorporating the 30m diameter Limmo working shaft for the running tunnels to Farringdon employing diaphragm wall and sprayed concrete lining techniques.

This section of the works included the complex upgrade and enlargement of the existing brick-lined Connaught tunnel under the Victoria & Albert docks with associated mass concrete and brick approach structures. The tunnel works under the Thames and Woolwich Arsenal to Plumstead with extensive approach structures and shafts.
